Natural Beauty: Coconut Oil

coconut photoshop.png png.png

Recently i discovered my love for natural and organic oil’s again such as Argan and Moroccan oil, however I have never tried and tested coconut oil, seeing as there was such a HUGEEE hype on the product in the blogging world.

If someone were to tell me years ago that there was one single product that could contribute to my health and beauty regime, I would of never believed them. After discovering this little gem, my mind is completely changed. Coconut Oil is simply one of the best multi purpose organic natural products available.

Coconut Oil is an amazing hair mask. It leaves your hair with a silky texture feeling and lots of shine. I run this through my hair in a similar way of any normal store bought hair mask, just before I got to sleep, let it do it’s magic over night and wash it out in the morning once out the shower you’ll discover your best hair day yet.

It is one of the healthiest oil’s you could use when cooking and it can also be used as a baking ingredient as it is a saturated fat it can be used in place of butter.

Coconut oil is one of the best moisturisers I have ever used! It can be so much more effective than any average store bought lotions, the oil penetrates deep layers of the skin and actually helps strength under-layering tissues, it also helps remove any dead skin cells. It is a great face moisturiser, I like to use it to also remove my makeup at the end of the night, as the oil helps breakdown any makeup from water proof mascara to liquid lipstick. I just lather the oil between my fingers and working and massaging it into the skin until all the makeup looks like it is about to melt off my face then remove the excess with a damp muslin cloth.

Note: I dont reccommned heating the coconut oil in the microwave as it damages vital health properties within the product.

My Juvederm Smile Lip Filler Experience

IMG_3406

So today’s blog post is a slightly controversial one to say the least, it’s about my recent interaction with lip fillers and my experience with it.

Thinking back to when I was a little girl just getting into makeup I always thought I had teeny lips especially my top lip and how they were not the same size or fullness. When I turned 17 I really got into makeup and the whole trend of big lips, I knew of girls in my local town that had got lip fillers and I was immediately hooked on the idea of it. Like most 17 year old that were still in school I did not have the money to pay for such an expensive treatment and this is the time when I researched the different clinics in my area, what would be going into my lips exactly, how the procedure works and how long it lasts. I said to myself that I would wait until I had the money and time to go through with this.

When I turned 19 I knew that this was the year I wanted to change my lips for the better, I saved up enough money. At this point I had watched so many different youtube videos on different peoples lip filler experience and how it worked out for them, at this point I knew enough about it that I was going into it confident and comfortable.

One of the most anticipated clinics/nurses in my area that were known for lip fillers was Ashleigh Todd Cosmetics, she is based all around the UK in areas such as Newcastle and Glasgow. She has had so many amazing reviews and I loved all the after pictures of every person she has done lip fillers on and I knew she was the one!

I booked my appointment on a Thursday just a couple of weeks after I contacted her, with no plans for the weekend, as I knew that would potentially be horrendous swelling and bruising.

The big day… when I got there we had a consultation, we discussed what filler I was looking for and the look I wanted to achieve in my lips, I knew from the get go I wanted one of the highest possible amount of Juvederum (no holding back at this point), the procedure was pretty easy, first she applied numbing cream which gave me a tingling sensation, then she just syringed away! Pretty quick, only took about 10 mins. Personally I did not find it as sore as I would of thought, just feels a bit uncomfortable and prickly, the procedure was done and my lips were BIG! Ashleigh had said that swelling after the procedure was totally normal considering I did get Juvederm Ultra Smile 3 which is one of the highest dosage of derma filler. She said that they would last around 9-11 months and I can come back any time after that to get a top up.

Couple of hours after the procedure.

It’s been a couple of months now since I got them done and I honestly couldn’t be more happier, super excited for my next appointment in the months to come.

Drugstore Product of the Week!

IMG_4533

IMG_4532

Selling in boots stores world wide, priced at £2.99 (prices may vary)

Dry Shampoo is something is one of my holy grail items which gets used at least once a week! I’ve tried my fair share of them but have found that the best drugstore one is the Batiste Dry Shampoo. Having naturally very coarse thick hair I sadly cannot wash it every day as it would eventually fall out, this is when dry shampoo comes into play.

No one really likes the look of greasy roots, dry shampoo was made to give a washed clean look to the hair without making the hair feel thick or dirty.

Out of all of the dry shampoo’s I have tried so far this one is by far my favourite. A little spray of this to the roots of the hair goes a long way, it adds body and volume to the hair without the need for hairspray which is always a bonus. The one I have is the floral and flirty blush scent which smells INSANE!!! Batiste dry shampoo’s don’t leave a stiffness and crunchy feel to the hair which I find can happen a lot with some of the products on the market. I simply cannot live without dry shampoo, period.

My Top 5 Bronzers Under £10

P1000787

P1000788

 MUA Mosaic Bronzer – £2.50

Bourjois Delice de Poudre in 52 – £7.99

Bourjois Bronzing Primer – £9.99

L’oreal Glam Bronze in 06 – £7.99

Sleek Contour Kit in Light – £6.49

It’s no secret that I am completely addicted to bronzer and having bronzed skin, considering I’ve only had my blog for two months and this has been my second blog post all about bronzer skin. Bronzing is a step in my everyday makeup routine, I find that using bronzer really does sculpt and give a little more colour to my face especially those early mornings were I’m half zombie, half human, bronzer is then my best friend.

They are a lot of bronzers too choose from in the makeup industry but I’m going to share with you my top 5 favourite affordable ones. Let’s be honest affordable drugstore bronzers are just as good or sometimes better as high end bronzers.

MUA Mosaic bronzer is on the very cheap affordable end of the 5 as it comes in at £2.50 only, yet one of the most stunning bronzers! As it is more than a bronzer, it has a blush colour and quite a lot of shimmer for it to be a highlighter as well all in one. MUA did a very good job making this little cute product, as the colour pay off is insane and it compliments my cheek bones very well. Cheap and cheerful.

Bourjois Powder is no stranger to my makeup collection, this one in particular as I’ve had it for 3 years now and it has still not developed a proper dent in the product! AMAZING! The bronzer itself is very warm and rich which gives tanned skin a gorgeous glow, and at the price that it is for it to last that long is also pretty amazing, people say it smells like chocolate I would say more vanilla for me, I think it might just be my smelling sense.

The Bourjois bronzing primer is very similar to the powder but in a mouse consistency which is perfect then for contour under foundation as your skin then looks sun kissed, almost as if you just came back from holiday, and who would not want that sun kissed holiday look? It is quite expensive coming at £10 for a drugstore product but you really only need a tiny bit of this as it is very pigmented. Personally I think it is almost a dupe for the Chanel Soeil Tan De Chanel, I’ve even heard people say the Bourjois one is better but don’t tell Chanel that.

L’oreal Glam bronzer is a new one to grace my collection, and honestly I cannot say I regret buying this! I have seen so many reviews that I had to see what the hype was about. Now I understand. The bronzer has slight flexes of gold running through it which look gorgeous with a smokey eye. Also the bronzer it self is very pigmented! I looove it and would say it can be used for contouring with a really light hand that is because of how strong the colour is. The packaging is super sophisticated and sleek also it comes with a little compact mirror underneath and a contour brush for on the go touch ups. Perfect!

Last but not least the Sleep Contour Kit, this is a product I cannot live without, this has to be my third purchase of this product because how much I use it and then it ends up running out fast! But I use a lot of this product because it’s the perfect contour shade, completely matte no shimmer what so ever. It comes in 3 different shades to suit a variety of skin tones, and the rich warm pigmentation of the product also gives a bronzy sculpted glow to the face. The bronzer is a duo which comes with a highlighter which I’m honestly not a massive fan of because it is so shimmery but it works if you literally tap the brush into the highlighter, it will work perfect with the contour shade then.

I hope you liked this review and took something back from it or even learned something about any of these bronzers.

What’s your favourite bronzer? Desperate to know so I can build on my collection.

Under The Weather

35a58099e421415b5d8bd0ba1faa4370 Hi Everyone!

I know I have been a bit MIA recently due to having the cold. I’ve been feeling like crap for the last week or so, thats why I wasn’t in the mood to blog because really my brain was not functioning properly, I feel like I’m slowly getting better and going to try and get into the swing of things again, I noticed every year this time I get really sick, I think it’s the weather change it does something to me!

Im going to share with you all just little things that have managed to cheer me up and make me feel a little bit better about myself this week.

1. Pinterest, I know it sounds really weird, how can a social media website make you feel better, but I love just searching for cute pictures and quotes on Pinterest that always seem to cheer me up! You should do the same if you’re feeling about down in the dumps. Tumblr is a good option too.

2. No makeup skin, personally I love no makeup skin all the time and if I could go everyday without having to wear makeup I totally would. Wearing no makeup makes your skin feel hydrated and clean. Exactly how I wanna feel when I’m not well.

3. Warm showers. I’ve never been one to have a bath instead of a shower, I totally prefer warm showers, but the occasional bath with a lush product wouldn’t hurt. Anyways, a warm shower just makes you feel relaxed and calm, whenever I’m sick especially I tend to get sore heads, a warm showers helps to sooth that pain.

4. The Xfactor, it’s that time of year again when the Xfactor comes back to our television screens and personally I love watching it, I feel like my saturday nights get a tiny bit better, me and my mum just sit and laugh in hysterics for ages at some of the ridiculous acts! That’s just a small way to cheer you up, plus a nice hot chocolate whilst you’re watching it will prove to be even better.

5. Going walks with my dog. I personally love walking my dog. My energy levels do decrease when I’m not well, but when I’m outside walking my dog for an hour or so the fresh air helps so much.

6. Sleep, and lots of it. Trust me it will get your energy back up and get rid of those bags!

Hope you are all having a great September so far, let me know what things you guys do when you’re not feeling great?

Beauty Essentials For School

I think I might be late on the Back To School wagon, as here in Scotland people went back to school last week, well my sister did anyways.

As a new fresh leaver for school I wanted to share with you what I would usually take to school with me beauty essential wise and things to help you during your school day.

Most of the products that I am going to show you are affordable Drugstore makeup, because when I was in school I only used my makeup from Boots and kept my Mac makeup for special occasions, plus I would always keep my makeup natural for school, because I was lazy and wanted more time in bed in the morning.

P1000764 P1000771 P1000772

I would first take deodorant this one is a vaseline one which is my favourite as it smells amazing, I noticed that I seem to be quite picky with my deodorants, also a little bottle of either perfume or body spray I have this little one, which i believe it is Britney Spears perfume but don’t judge me haha! It smells amazing trust me🙂. I would take a little bottle as you don’t want it to take up too much space, plus if you have P.E that day perfume and body spray can come in handy!

When it was a hot day especially I would always take a packet of either makeup wipes or Wet Ones wipes, because when you have a full face of makeup on in school and you’re absolutely boiling, you just feel like you need to take it all off and feel a bit more fresh! Using a makeup wipe will help ensure this as it cleanses your face instantly and you’ll feel more cool down.

I would take a hand sanitiser for you know keeping clean and everything, kind of self explanatory. The one I have here is from Bath and body works I believe, which my friend picked up for me in Florida.

I would always either taken a lip balm or a lipgloss to school or sometimes both. Two cheap options from the Drugstore, simple vaseline, and I have a cheap lipgloss from Barry M my favourite drugstore lipgloss as well as it’s the perfect nude colour.

Also a miniature mascara, won’t do any damage, as mascara’s tend to have quite chunky packaging, the only miniature one I had in collection was this Clinique one, which happens to be my all time favourite high end mascara.

A power is the most essential beauty product for me in school, as my T zone tends to get quite oily throughout the day, so a little touch up with powder is always good. This one I have hear is a beauty bloggers favourite and it’s the Rimmel Stay Matte. Very cheap and very good. Concealer is always a good choice to bring personally for me it is, because I have quite ugly dark circles which need covered up with ALOT of concealing. I have this one from Seventeen which is really cheap coming at £2.99 I think plus it has a lot of product in the tube!

I always took two different types of makeup brushes to school one small one for my concealer and one bigger one to apply my powder.

Last but not least is a mirror so that you can actually see what your applying.

Thanks for reading, Much Love

Urban Decay Naked Basics

Urban Decay Naked 1

Urban Decay Naked 3

BH Cosmetics Forever Nude Palette

4 U 2 I-Pro Professional Eye Make-up Palette in Modern which I picked up in Dubai

Its no secret that when it comes to eyeshadow, I am an absolute neutrals girl and that will probably never change.

Above are my top five favourite (it was hard to narrow it down to just five).

As you can see I’m a massive Urban Decay fan when it comes to eyeshadows, I have 3 other more prior to the 3 in this picture but I would say they are more vibrant colour ones, if you want too see a blog post on them let me know in the comments.

Urban Decay never fails when it comes to eyeshadow. Each and every eyeshadow is very pigmented and non powdery at all, can’t go wrong? The naked 1 is my all time favourite palette to ever exists I have not found one that can replace it yet, but do you blame me? I mean look at it! It’s gorgeous. It consists of neutrals with golds that would suit a brown eye perfectly! Hence my love for it. The Naked Basics was kindly giving to me at my 17th birthday from one of my best friends, I honestly love this for travelling it is the most perfect palette. It is very compact and lightweight. Plus the neutral colours are amazing for everyday easy looks. The Naked 3 palette is a new one to my collection, I don’t love it as much as the Naked 1 but its pretty up there in terms of colour and quality, as it consists of beautiful rose gold colours that I would of never seen anyone else come up with! very unique urban decay! I tend to use the naked 3 palette if Plus you can’t go wrong with a free amazing brush with both naked 1 and 3 and title mini primer potions which is also my fave eye primer.

The next is one which has everything you need in one palette it is a life saver and it’s my BH cosmetics Forever Nude palette! It comes with 6 neutral shadows, 2 lip options, a highlighter and 2 blushes! AMAZING! I only payed £16 for this on ebay, abouslte bargain if you ask me! Amazing quality and for that price you can’t go wrong.

My last all time favourite is a new one in my collection, I use this a lot when I want to go for a smoked out eye look with a gold shimmer, perfect for a night out! These shadows are highly pigmented and you’ll be amazed at the price only £13!! Thats £1.60 per shadow! Insane I know, what an economical purchase this was. Plus golds and browns are my favourite shades of eyeshadows, just saying.
